Kevin Frazier

Entertainment Tonight Weekend Anchor and Correspondent

 

This year Kevin Frazier begins his fourth season as weekend anchor and correspondent of Entertainment Tonight, the #1 entertainment newsmagazine in the world.  In 2007 Kevin interviewed many sought-after celebrities including Justin Timberlake, Will Ferrell and Janet Jackson.  Since 2004 Kevin has interviewed some of Hollywood's hottest stars and covered some of the industry's biggest events.  He traveled to Aspen, Colorado to exclusively interview Kevin Costner about his wedding to Christine Baumgartner, flew to Hong Kong to cover the "Ocean's Twelve" premiere and was aboard the airplane flight transporting the Oscar statuettes from Chicago to Los Angeles for the 2005 Academy Awards.  Prior to joining Entertainment Tonight, Frazier served as host of “NBA Shootaround,” ESPN’s half-hour pre-game news program, and “Fastbreak Tuesday,” a weekly whip-around show that takes viewers to live NBA games across the country. After joining ESPN in July 2002, Frazier’s duties included anchor of “SportsCenter,” as well as NBA studio host.

 

 

 

Chelsea Cooley

Miss USA 2005

Chelsea Cooley is Miss USA 2005.  Hailing from North Carolina, she is the first woman from her state to take this national title.  For a year, Chelsea traveled the country as a National Spokesperson for Breast and Ovarian Cancer Research and Awareness.  She helped to raise over 22.8 million dollars for her platform.  Chelsea also volunteered with Best Buddies, Special Olympics, St. Jude's and the USO.  As Miss USA, Chelsea resided in New York City working for Donald Trump.  Recently, she moved back to North Carolina, where she runs her own Image Consulting business, StandOut Productions, Inc.  She is currently writing a book, “The Untold Secrets of How to Win a Pageant.” Chelsea is an image consultant and motivational speaker for numerous engagements around the world.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Captain Mark Davis, USN

Grand Marshal

 

Captain Mark Davis will lead the 2008 North Carolina Azalea Festival as Grand Marshal on Saturday morning, April 12, 2008 in downtown Wilmington.  After completing a four-year enlisted tour as a Navy Seabee, he received his commission through the NROTC program, graduating as the outstanding student in his department from San Diego University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.  In 2001, he reported to the Commander, Naval Submarine Forces staff as the Force Nuclear Power Officer, serving in that capacity for 22 months.  He assumed command of the attack submarine USS MONTPELIER (SSN 765) in February 2004 and served until June 2006.  Upon relief as Commanding Officer of USS MONTPELIER, Captain Davis attended several pipeline schools before relieving as Commanding Officer of PCU NORTH CAROLINA (SSN 777) in November 2006.  Commander Davis is authorized to wear the Meritorious Service Medal with two stars, the Navy Commendation Medal with four stars, and the Navy Achievement Medal with two stars. 

 

 

 

 

Lee Norris

Actor

Lee Norris has been a familiar face to television and film audiences since the age of nine.  He currently stars as ‘Mouth McFadden’ in The CW hit series “One Tree Hill.” 

A North Carolina native, Norris made his television debut on the NBC sitcom “The Torkelsons,” followed by “Almost Home,” and later went on to appear as fan-favorite ‘Stuart Minkus’ in ABC’s “Boy Meets World.”  Other television appearances include “October Road,” “Dawson’s Creek,” and the television movies “Any Place But Home,” “A Step Toward Tomorrow,” “A Mother’s Instinct,” and “Hope” directed by Goldie Hawn.

 Norris’ film credits include Miramax’s “The Journey of August King,” and most recently, director David Fincher’s “Zodiac” starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey Jr. 

 Norris is a graduate of Wake Forest University and splits his time between Los Angeles and North Carolina, where “One Tree Hill” is filmed.

 

 

Hilarie Burton

Actress

Hilarie Burton stars in the hit drama "One Tree Hill," as the fiercely independent and beautiful Peyton Sawyer.

With a presence on network and cable TV, radio and the big screen, Burton is one of the hottest young stars of today. She recently starred in the thriller "The List," and will appear in the upcoming thriller "Solstice." Burton's latest feature, "Our Very Own," whose ensemble cast features Allison Janney, Jason Ritter and Cheryl Hines, was screened at the Sarasota Film Festival and honored with a special "Outstanding Ensemble Acting" Award. 

Audiences are familiar with Burton from her work as one of MTV's hottest VJs. As a former host of "TRL," MTV's wildly popular request show, and various MTV specials, Burton interviewed the most talked-about people in entertainment, from Angelina Jolie to Britney Spears. Burton also appeared as a VJ on "Dawson's Creek." In 2003, she hosted "The Real World Las Vegas Reunion" and "Pepsi Smash."

 Born and raised in Loudoun County, Virginia, with her three brothers, Burton developed a passion for acting early in life. Shortly after moving to New York to pursue her dream, she landed the coveted job of VJ at MTV and her role on "One Tree Hill."

Chad Michael Murray

Actor

Chad Michael Murray, whose performances have earned him praise from critics and audiences alike, stars on the hit drama "One Tree Hill," as Lucas Scott, a brooding intellectual struggling to find his place.

Murray's previous television roles include playing the love interest to Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams' characters on "Dawson's Creek." He also appeared as the overconfident classmate to Alexis Bledel's character on "Gilmore Girls." Other television credits include the title role in The WB's "The Lone Ranger."

On the big screen, Murray recently starred in Irwin Winkler's "Home of the Brave," opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Biel and 50 Cent. Murray also starred as the lead in Joel Silver's remake of "House of Wax," opposite Elisha Cuthbert, and as Prince Charming in "A Cinderella Story," opposite Hilary Duff. Murray co-starred in the critically acclaimed remake of "Freaky Friday," opposite Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan.

 Murray was born and raised in Buffalo, New York.  He currently resides in Wilmington.

 

 

Jessica Marie Jacobs

Miss NC

 

Miss North Carolina, Jessica Jacobs, grew up in the “Furniture Capital of the World,” High Point, NC.  She trained and performed with the High Point Ballet from her elementary school days to the day she graduated from Ledford High School in 2002.  Jacobs is a lifelong Tar Heel fan and UNC-CH Journalism school alum; however, in May 2007 she finished her first year as a graduate student of organizational communication at NC State University where she is a full tuition scholar and public speaking instructor.

 

Jacobs founded the “Read to Me” literacy program in Davidson and Randolph Counties and will work to develop the program throughout North Carolina.  As Miss North Carolina, Jacobs is also an ambassador and fund raiser for the Children’s Miracle Network.  An active promoter of youth smoking prevention, Jessica has appeared in many schools across our state promoting her anti-smoking program. 

 

Jacobs competed for the title of Miss America in Las Vegas in January of 2008, where she was a Quality of Life Finalist for her dedication to her literacy project and was proudly placed as fourth runner up.
