Coin Show

Coin Show

American Legion Hall, 702 Pine Grove Drive, (Wilmington, opp Muni Golf course)

A fun filled family event. Children are given free foreign coins to learn about currency and foreign countries. More than 30 dealers from several surrounding states will be on hand to appraise, buy, sell and trade coins, currency and other numismatic items.
PAN FOR GOLD - While at the show you can pan for gold, real NC gold from Little Meadow Creek ($2 fee). Learn about the very first Gold Rush in the United States. North Carolina’s Gold Rush began in 1803 more than 45 years before the California Rush. You can keep what you find.
There are several educational exhibits including one showing a sample of the coin which, according to the Bible, is one of the '30 pieces of silver' Judas received for betraying Christ along with a widow's mite, tribute penny and other Biblical era coins. Included in this time line exhibit are samples of the first of our modern coins that date from 640 B.C.

$1.00 Donation is suggested for admission.
