Historic Wilmington Foundation Home Tour 2010:
Opening doors to our Past, Present & Future.
Wilmington, NC - The 2010 Home Tour is an annual showcase of distinctive homes that is held during Wilmington’s Azalea Festival. These wonderful and inviting homes will be open to the public for tour this year, Saturday, April 10th from 1 to 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 11th from 1 to 5 p.m. Mayor Bill Saffo will do the honors officially beginning the Tour with a ribbon-cutting on Saturday, April 10th at 12:30 p.m. at the home of Tom and Lucia Hughes (10 South 5th Avenue).
Tickets for the tour are $25 and will be available at all local Harris Teeter stores and other area outlets, as well as the Azalea Festival Office, the Historic Wilmington Foundation, 516 North 4th Street, and at each home site the days of the tour. Groups of ten or more can purchase discounted tickets at a cost of $22.
Each home has been selected for its individual appeal and architectural or historic significance, and the collection of homes will please everyone. The owners of the following properties have graciously agreed to open their house for the 2010 tour:

3. Tuscany – 120 South 5th Avenue – Chris & Kathy Wilson
4. Williams House - 10 South 5th Avenue – Tom & Lucia Hughes
5. William H. Alderman House - 521 Dock Street – William & Mindy Heu
6. Jacob Weil House - 21 South 6th Street – Mark & Angela Kennedy
7. Henry Clay Bear House – 614 Market Street – David & Laura Lisle
8. Kirby Smith House – 111 North 15th Street – Jeffrey & Natalie Litzinger
9. Butler House - 1808 Market Street – Greg Chandler & Bill Robertson

Furthermore, the home tour enables the citizens of Wilmington and our visitors to discover a marvelous city in North Carolina, showcasing the excellence of our historic districts and neighborhoods.

All proceeds from the Home Tour will advance the Historic Wilmington Foundation’s efforts to protect and preserve the irreplaceable historic resources of Wilmington and the Lower Cape Fear region. Since its formation in 1966, the Historic Wilmington Foundation has successfully saved over 200 historic properties from demolition.
