The success of the North Carolina Azalea Festival is made possible through the hard work and dedication of a large corps of community volunteers. Nearly 100 volunteer committees plan and organize events such as the Parade, the Street Fair, the Pre-Festival Party and the community clean-up called Azalea Pride, as well as critical operations such as communications, transportation, sponsor relations and event hospitality.

If you’d like to join this special volunteer group, please complete the online Volunteer Application and tell us about your skills and interests. Volunteer opportunities may be available for a single day or involve a year-round commitment. The level of involvement you choose depends on your interests and availability. We will work to get you involved in a way that you find both meaningful and enjoyable.

Once you have submitted your application, we will begin to match your skills and availability with the needs of our committees. Your name will be shared with Committee Chairs requesting similar skills and available timeframes. This contact person will be able to better explain what types of training/orientation might be required depending on the nature of the committee.
