Street Fair

Tagged:  ,

The North Carolina Azalea Festival Street Fair is a free, family event with over 330 arts and craft vendors, 40 food vendors, 4 stages, a children’s area and a whole lot of fun! The Street Fair is located in downtown Wilmington on Water, Front, and Market Street.

The fun starts on Friday night with Riverfront Park Stage entertaining the crowds and food vendors filling the air with scrumptious smells. The fun continues on Saturday and Sunday.

The arts and craft booths cover the entire stretch of the Street Fair and there is something for everyone. There are old favorites like face painting, jewelry (made from sea glass to antique buttons), t-shirts, and photography but there are also new vendors offering wine, hot sauces, candles, and local honey.

The food vendors have the staples- funnel cakes, fresh made lemonade, gyros, kettle corn and ice cream but if you’re looking for something more adventurous; a deep fried Oreo or an eight pound gummy bear will be sure to hit the spot!

Multiple stages offer all kinds of family-friendly entertainment.

ChaseLikensChase Likens is a 23-year-old trifecta of talent, with a resume boasting accomplishments as an actor, songwriter, and most notably, country music singer. His classically country vocals and modern instrumentation have landed this native West Virginian as a finalist on American Idol and now, a Belk Southern Musician Showcase Winner.

DownHomeBandDown Home Band is an energetic, authentic Americana band with a solidified core of Folk Rock, Alternative Country, and Southern Blues. Members of the group have parted ways in the past, but their artistic chemistry has always reunited them and ensured their work stood the test of time. They call themselves the hardest working musicians in Nashville and they’ve even slept on the floors of music studios in order to get their latest album recorded. Their hard work has paid off because they’ve now been selected as winners in Belk’s Southern Musician Showcase!
